From diagnosis to advice and treatment

We advise and consult on a wide range of general medical problems and can carry out many diagnostic procedures at our exceptionally well-equipped practice. These include

• ECG, Cardiac tests and Cardiovascular Risk Assessment
• Ultrasound scan of the carotid arteries to look for premature furring and increased risk of heart disease
• Tumour markers and screening for Bowel Cancer and Ovarian Cancer - Mammograms can also be arranged
• Cervical smear and HPV testing
• Prostate and Thyroid checks
• Lung function tests
• Blood testing and blood screening - haematology, biochemistry, cholesterol, and diabetes
• X Rays and bone density scanning can be arranged
• Travel vaccines excluding yellow fever

We are able to offer an exceptionally fast referral system to an established network of excellent consultants. Appointments can often be booked within a day or two and in the case of emergencies we aim for same day referral.

Please allow 24 hours for a repeat prescription. Should you run out of essential medication and cannot see your doctor straight away, a pharmacist can give you a few day’s supply if you take your tablets to show them.

The results of blood tests taken at the practice will normally be available in 24 hours These results are normally sent to you via mail or email unless there is a significantly abnormal result  - in which case we would telephone you.
